An impeller with rubber blades rotates in a pump housing with a cam. The vanes under the cam are deflected, reducing the space between two vanes and forcing the liquid out of them.
This pump is also called FIP (Flexible Impeller Pump) or flex impeller pump.
The flexible impeller pump is a financially very attractive pump for low pressure applications.
The pump construction allows the pump to be easily reversible in direction of rotation.
